Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at hello@cheeseandbees.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.

As a general rule of thumb between 100g and 125g per person for after dinner,  or between 150g and 200g per person if cheese is the focus of the meal.

There isn't a hard rule for this,  we normally say if you're willing to eat it it's fine,  but here are a few guidance tips.

  • Whole or larger pieces of cheese will last longer than smaller cuts.
  • Hard cut cheeses like Cheddar and Gruyere, and robust blues like Stilton, will keep for at least fourteen days if wrapped and stored in waxed paper or foil.
  • Very  soft fresh cheeses like Mozzarella di Buffalo, may only have three to four days’ life.
  • Cheese and mould are natural friends and given a chance, all cheese will grow it. If your cheese has some surface mould when you unwrap it, trim the thin layer off, the cheese underneath will still likely taste great.
  • With cheese, everyone's taste is different, generally if you're willing to eat it it's edible.

  • Larger pieces of cheese keep better than small pieces.
  • Store in a cool room or the bottom of the fridge, wrapped in waxed paper or foil, so the cheese can breathe.
  • The best place is usually the salad compartment. It is slightly warmer and more humid than other areas of the fridge which cheese will prefer.
  • Allow the cheese to come up to room temperature about 20min to 2 hours before serving to improve flavours.

We take the quality of our products very seriously, and wouldn’t offer them unless we were certain of excellent standard.

Unfortunately, sometimes due to circumstances outside of our control, when sending perishable products over long distances problems can arise. If there are any issues at all with the quality of the products you receive, please email hello@cheeseandbees.co.uk as soon as possible. If there is any damage or spoilage it is helpful to include pictures when emailing.

We pack  orders with ice packs and insulating box filler to ensure your cheese arrives in
good condition. Deliveries are then sent with our overnight courier.

Most our cheese and Charcuterie is cut by hand, therefore weights and sizes will vary

as it's not possible to ensure that all pieces exactly match the weight specified. Our cheesemongers aim to cut as accurately as possible and you will never receive less than the total weight of the order.

Where weights for whole cheeses are listed this is an estimation, as cheeses generally vary slightly in size and weight.

We do not accept returns for perishable goods. If there is a problem with your order, please contact us at hello@cheeseandbees.co.uk as soon as possible, including a picture or description of any issues.

We can only accept returns for non-perishable goods that are in saleable condition. The initial cost of postage is the buyer's responsibility; we urge you to get proof of postage in all cases. We will then reimburse you the cost of the item upon its arrival to our shop.

  • Our delivery charge is £7.00.

  • Orders over £55 will be sent free of charge.

  • We send orders by courier to most of the UK. (We do not currently offer delivery to ULEZ areas of London, the Scottish Highlands, Islands, Northern Ireland, or outside the UK).

  • All our parcels are carefully packed and insulated using recyclable materials. We always use an overnight delivery service for UK mainland orders to ensure that your cheese arrives with you in the best possible condition.
